San Francisco has always been a beacon of diversity. For more than a century and a half, people have come from all over the world to find a home and a fresh start here by the Golden Gate.

The Federation mirrors the city’s longstanding practice of acceptance: we embrace the largest LGBT population in the country, work with nontraditional and interfaith families, and provide a warm welcome and resources to Jewish immigrants.

Our goal is to be the center of philanthropy for our diverse community. We work to identify and meet the needs of Jews in the Bay Area and everywhere by supporting a variety of established agencies and programs.

We encourage you to experience the best of our colorful region, help promote Jewish life in San Francisco, support thoughtful solutions and get involved through community outreach, leadership opportunities, fundraising, and Israel travel!
